Hebrews 1:1-3
1. Jesus was the Divine ARTICULATOR (v. 1-2)
(1) In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, (2) but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,
2. Jesus was the Divine APPOINTEE (v. 2)
(2) but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things,
3. Jesus was the Divine ARCHITECT (v. 2)
(2) but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
4. Jesus was the Divine ADJECTIVE (v. 3)
(3) The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.
5. Jesus was the Divine ATONEMENT (v. 3)
(3) …After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
• He died for your sins…not His…He had none
• Somebody had to pay for your sins
• He was the only
• He paid for every one of your sins
• You didn’t deserve the pardon
• He did it because He loves you
6. Jesus is the Divine ADVOCATE (v. 3)
(3) … After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
