BIBLICAL COUNSELING

About Our Ministry

Biblical counseling at Chapel Pointe is a personal discipleship ministry grounded in the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word and the work of the Holy Spirit. We seek to realign disordered desires and behaviors with God’s design, fostering true worship of Him and restoring right relationships with others. In addition, it provides compassionate care for those who are suffering, offering hope and healing through Christ in the midst of their trials.

*We are unable to offer crisis counseling. If you are in a crisis and need immediate help call 911 or 988 (Suicide hotline).

START YOUR JOURNEY
Gospel-Centered
Being Gospel-centered, we are rooted in Christ’s teaching and redemptive work, believing true healing comes through a relationship with Him.
Whole Person Focused
We take a whole person approach - resulting in a renewing of heart, mind and body restored through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Relationally Rooted
God created humans as relational beings, designed to live in fellowship with Him and others. Our counseling aims to also become a bridge to help individuals engage in meaningful, healthy, and Christ-centered relationships.

Common Questions

What is biblical counseling?

What Biblical Counseling Is:

  • Engaging in active, compassionate listening to fully understand the thoughts, emotions, and experiences of others
  • Christ-centered, focusing on heart transformation through the gospel.
  • Grounded in Scripture to address life’s challenges and personal struggles.
  • A process of discipleship aimed at spiritual growth and alignment with God’s will (Colossians 1:28).
  • A source of hope, healing, and encouragement through biblical truth.
  • Empowered by the Holy Spirit to help individuals grow in faith and holiness.

What Biblical Counseling Is Not:

  • Focused on self-improvement, but rather spiritual transformation.
  • A quick fix for problems or just behavior modification.
  • The same as secular psychology or worldly wisdom.
  • Mentoring, as it seeks to address deeper heart issues through the lens of scripture, while mentoring focuses more on personal development, advice, and life guidance.
  • Primarily addressing only surface symptoms; it aims to reach the root of spiritual issues.

Do you provide counseling services for minors?

Our counseling philosophy emphasizes that parents hold the God-given responsibility to disciple and counsel their children. Scripture supports this in Proverbs 22:6, which instructs, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it,” and Ephesians 6:4, which calls parents to “bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” Because of this biblical mandate, we do not counsel minors directly, but we are committed to helping parents find the resources they need to navigate difficult situations with wisdom and grace.
