Community Impact Pastor


This position will initiate new and inventive ways to move the church outside its traditional walls to actively serve our community. He will lead the congregation to serve, in the hope of leading others into an intimate walk with Jesus.

Primary Ministry Expectations/Responsibilities

  • A passion to explore the opportunities around us to impact our community with the hope of Jesus Christ
  • A relational leader who is passionate about seeing people get outside the walls of the church, giving of their time and talents in service to our community for the gospel’s sake
  • Strategic development of ministry programs, events, and initiatives to help grow and sustain a dynamic ministry to impact our community with the love of Jesus
  • Develops and pours into volunteers and leaders to see them growing, equipped, and empowered to serve God
  • Mentoring – meeting with people in the congregation as the opportunity and need arises for the sake of helping them mature and grow in Christ
  • Building strong relationships with leaders of local organizations within the community
  • Casts vision for community impact at Chapel Pointe
  • Primary person to lead local/global mission budget and commitee

Secondary Ministry Expectations/Responsibilities

  • A strategic, big picture person, who loves thinking outside the box.
  • A person who is gifted at seeing opportunities where others see obstacles
  • Plans, coordinates and executes short-term mission trips in accordance with our out-reach philosophy and policies
  • Facilitate communication and cooperation among staff and ministry teams
  • Gives oversight and strategic direction to all community events
  • Self-motivated (works effectively with minimal supervision)

Personal Qualifications Needed

  • Must fulfill the qualifications of an Elder as described in 1 Timothy 3
  • Demonstrates a lifestyle and family life that is consistent in word and practice with the teaching of the Bible
  • Understands and embraces the Chapel Pointe Statement of Faith, Constitution and Vision Statement
  • Possess theological maturity and depth preferable with formal theological training or intensive mentoring
