Transformed followers of Jesus
passionately Responding to God
Rooted in prayer and the Bible
TRANSFORMED – Transformation is both a beginning point, and a perpetual process. Transformation both prompts, and is affected by, our response. Personal transformation at Chapel Pointe is birthed through a vision rooted in prayer and the Word of God, and results in us becoming followers of Jesus. Transformation is triggered primarily through a renewed mind that comes from exposure to the Word (Romans 12:1-2).
RESPONDING – People respond to the authority of God in many ways. Submission, apathy, tolerance, rejection. We desire at Chapel Pointe to not only submit to the direction of God, but passionately respond to it in the way we worship, give, pray, send, and serve (Philippians 2:3-11).
ROOTED – A strong foundation is built in the Word of God and Prayer. Prayer is not something we do, but who we are. We are a praying church because we are a bible believing church. We expect God to work supernaturally, and particularly in the areas in which we are rooted in prayer. The high calling of prayer and bible study will prompt personal transformation, a passionate response to God, and a holy pursuit of equipping discipline for kingdom work. Prayer must be our first response rather than our last resort, as we desperately depend on God (Phil. 4:6-7, 1 John 5:14-15, Psalms 1:1-3).
EQUIPPING – The Church, Christ’s body, is one of God’s great gifts to believers. In the Church we pray for one another, value each another, encourage one another, and sharpen one another in righteousness. We depend on the Holy Spirit to do a work in us while also understanding our responsibility to be discipled and continually grow up into spiritual maturity (Matt. 28:19-20).
VISION – Vision is essential to understanding what God has called us to regarding the advancement of his kingdom while on Earth. A God-given vision, cast and implemented with dependence on the Holy Spirit, will directly affect the amount of spiritual transformation and impact a local church realizes (Hab. 2:2-3, Prov. 29:18).
WORSHIP – Worship is an attitude of the heart and a reflection of our understanding of who God is. Our desire is that our corporate worship guides followers of Jesus to worship him daily in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
OUTREACH – We are to love others with passion and obedience in response to the great love God has shown us. We desire to serve others and model the humility of Christ in all that we do as a church. This love extends to our community, and throughout the world. (Phil 2:3-5, Isaiah 52:7, Matt. 5:14-16)
FAMILY – The primary vehicle for discipling believers is the family. We believe that equipping parents to spiritually develop their children will produce more fruit than church initiatives, and we also believe that family-friendly church initiatives can enhance the family’s spiritual maturation. Regardless of stage of life, involvement with a local body of believers can have a huge influence on the families of Chapel Pointe. (Deut. 6:4-9)
DISCIPLESHIP – Properly equipping believers for the work of ministry requires strategic ways to move people toward engaging discipleship. This primarily involves small group ministry at Chapel Pointe, but includes Bible-study elements, mentoring, and care ministry for the needs of our local body. (2 Timothy 2:2, Titus 2:4, Acts 2:42)
CONNECTION – We are responsible for every single person who comes in contact with Chapel Pointe. We must use an intentional approach to give visitors every opportunity to engage further in ministry, with movement toward meaningful partnerships that impact the kingdom of God. (Phil. 1:4-6)
