Winter Class Opportunities

Classes take place throughout the week at Chapel Pointe, generally run for 10 weeks, and are a great opportunity to dive deeper into God’s Word and connect and grow with other transformed followers.

cpKids programming is offered on Wednesday evenings to parents participating in a class or volunteering with cpKids on those evenings.

Classes are taught at the Hudsonville Campus unless noted otherwise. 

 

Wednesday Night Classes

5 Essentials

Discover essential truths for living as a transformed follower of Christ. Each of the five topics will be taught by different CP Leaders. The class topics include: Bible, Jesus, Prayer, Outreach and Stewardship.

This class will be held on Wednesday evenings, starting January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by various teachers. The class will run for 5 weeks and is offered in two different sessions and locations. Please choose the session and location that works for your schedule.

  • January 10 – February 7 – Offered at the Hudsonville and Byron Center Campus

Act Like Men: Living Life on Mission in the Most Important Areas of Your Life

This class will explore the key areas of biblical leadership in the lives of men with an emphasis on integrating the most important areas of a man’s life in their walk with Christ.

This class will be held on Wednesday evenings, starting January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by Dan Vandewarker. The cost of materials is $5.00.

Faith Foundations

This class will examine some of the core doctrines of our faith. Our objective is to grow in our faith by gaining a deeper understanding of what Scripture teaches us about Christ, the Trinity, and other important doctrines that are at the core of what we believe.

This class will start on Wednesday, starting January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by Scott Dykstra. The cost of materials is $11.50, which includes the book.

Godly Habits

Developing lifestyle habits that help to cultivate spiritual formation in our homes. Let’s create practical daily disciplines that help us to prayerfully seek God in every area of our lives.

This class will be held on Wednesday evenings, starting January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by Andrew & Krista Honeycutt. The class will be held at the Byron Center Campus. The cost of materials is $5.00.

 

Living on Mission: Engaging Your Missional Call

Increasing missional momentum by reconnecting with God’s mission for life and activating rhythms of missional living. Participants will learn what it means to take responsibility for the spiritual condition of the people God has placed around them and exercise an incarnational presence in their community.

This class will start on Wednesday, January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by Steve Harrington. The class will run for 5 weeks and is offered in two different sessions. Please choose the session that works for your schedule. The cost of materials is $22.25, which includes the book.

Prayer with Paul: A Call to Spiritual Reformation

The apostle Paul found spiritual closeness in his own fellowship with the Father through prayer. By following Paul’s example, we can do the same. We will look beyond the superficial by embracing a God-guided approach to prayer.

This class will be held on Wednesday evenings, starting January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by Tom Curtis. The cost of materials is $17.00, which includes the book.

The Holy Spirit and You

Learn what the Bible teaches about the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Discover the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit as revealed in Scripture. The Ministry of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer will be emphasized as a foundation for the Christian experience.

This class will be held on Wednesday evenings, starting January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by Pastor Jim Jeffery. The cost of materials is $33.00, which includes the book. If you already have the book, “Practical Christian Theology”, the cost is $5.00.

Women/Moms: Holy Sexuality

Our kids are being inundated with lies that strategically and aggressively promote a sexual ethic that is counter to the truth of biblical sexuality. The Holy Sexuality Project aims to mobilize parents and provide refreshing clarity in navigating these conversations, empowering them to take the reins back from the culture. This 5-week class seeks to equip parents to reclaim biblical truth about sexuality and gender. It’s more than about God’s no…it’s also about God’s yes!

This class will be held on Wednesday evenings, starting January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by Laura Hinkle. The class will run for 5 weeks and is offered in two different sessions. Please choose the session that works for your schedule. The cost of materials is $5.00.

Men's, Women's, and Student Classes

Men's Class | Early Morning Men's Bible Study

We gather weekly to study the Bible, pray, and provide accountability to each other on our transformation journey.

This class will be held on Wednesday mornings, at 6:00am, and will be taught by Dan Vandewarker. There is no charge for this class.

Men's Class | Pure Freedom: Lead Like Jesus

In this class we will learn to lead from Jesus’ leadership model.

This class will be held on Thursday evenings, starting January 18, at 6:30pm, and will be taught by Jacob Watson. The class will be held at the Byron Center Campus. The cost of materials is $16.75, which includes the book.

Men's Class | Revelations Part 2

We will cover Revelation chapters 15-22. We want those in attendance to see the power of our Savior as Sovereign King, His redemptive power, and His love. From Matthew 28:19-20, we learn that we are to share with others Christ’s redemptive power and joy.

This class will be held on Tuesday evenings, starting January 9, from 6:30-8:00pm, and will be taught by Ron Christian and Buzz Lynds. The cost of materials is $24.25, which includes the book.

Men's Class | Pure Freedom: Finally Free

It’s a battle familiar to virtually every man – maintaining a pure mind, heart, and body in the presence of nearly constant sexual temptation. Join us as we dive into the Word, sharpen one another through accountability, and learn to take up the full armor of God. Whether you are struggling with sin, looking for further equipping, or want to mentor other men, come and join the pursuit of the inheritance that is ours in Jesus.

This class will be held on Thursday evenings, starting January 18, at  6:30pm, and will be taught by Steve Nichols. The class will be held at the Byron Center Campus. The cost of materials is $17.50, which includes the book.

Middle School Class | Study of the Holy Spirit

Interested in finding out more about the Holy Spirit? This is the class for you! This class is designed for Middle School students to come and discover more about the most often misunderstood person of the Trinity.

This class will be held on Wednesday evenings, starting January 10, from 6:30-7:45pm, and will be taught by Drew Vos.
