FALL LEARNING EXPERIENCES

Fall Learning Experiences offer one of the best opportunities for you to deepen your faith and grow spiritually here at Chapel Pointe. Taught by godly and gifted teachers, these courses
and studies are designed to biblically equip you along your spiritual journey and transform your life and relationship with Jesus.

Each Learning Experience is designed to help you:

Solomon’s search for meaning, purpose and fulfillment in life. He had the opportunity to pursue power, wealth, pleasure, work, projects and learning in a way very few would ever experience.

Apart from God it was all empty and frustrating, life a vapor. It is only a life with God that real life is found. Learn from Solomon so you don’t have to experience the same frustrating conclusion. Jesus promises an abundant life to all who follow Him.

Reboot Combat Recovery
Reboot Combat Recovery
Taught By: Lee Horning // Former US Military Servicemember

REBOOT Combat Recovery is a 12-week faith-based trauma healing course designed to help combat veterans and their families recover from the spiritual and moral wounds of war. Since 2011, thousands of REBOOT graduates have seen their hope restored and lives transformed.

About the Teacher:
Lee Horning has been attending Chapel Pointe with his wife Julie and their 2 children since September of 2014. Lee served with Air Force Special Operations and has also served in many civilian contract security positions as well as working 14 years as part of Kent County Sheriff Department Traffic Squad. Julie served in the Army as Combat Heavy Engineer officer and has been employed in  various positions in the medical device field since leaving the Army. Lee and Julie will be co-leading this class so come join us to experience true healing in Christ.

This 9-week class will help carry you across the huge divide that separates us from biblical culture thousands of miles away and over 2000 years in the past. Sessions will look at aspects of daily life, family, values, world view and more to enhance your understanding of the Bible, uncovering background the authors assumed their audience knew. It is essential to comprehend what it meant to the original readers since the Bible was not written to us, although it is for us.

Marcia is passionate about teaching the Bible in its cultural, historical, and geographical context. She has traveled extensively throughout most of the Bible lands, learning on site from a variety of Bible professors. Her teaching style utilizes multiple visuals and interactive discussions.

Jesus told us to go and make disciples, while Paul told us not to be ashamed of the gospel and that faith comes by hearing.
Join us for  “Go Boldly,” a 10-week class that will root you in what the gospel message is, how to defeat the fear that’s holding you back from talking boldly about it, and how to share your faith with confidence!

Josh Fuller is the chairman of the elders and leads a small group at Chapel Pointe. Joe Hill co-teaches with Josh and is a deacon and men’s mentor at CP. Both Josh and Joe are passionate about equipping believers to share their faith with others in a compelling way.

AmyJo Pleune is the coordinator of LPC’s  Best Life Community, where she has been engaging with the church for four years. Prior to that, she spent her time homeschooling her children, leading youth ministry and teaching Christian Worldview apologetics at a local high school. AmyJo recently celebrated twenty-five years married to her best friend Joe, and most enjoys time spent outdoors with him and with their children, Esther and Max. AmyJo graduated from Hope College and later attended GVSU where she completed her MSW.

John been at CP for 18 years.  During that time he’s served on the Elder Board for 13 years, been part of the worship team for 17.5 years, and been involved in small groups for 17 years.  He has been leading Precept Bible studies for the past several years, believing that inductive Bible study is the best way to study God’s word, and that the Precept method is an extremely effective way to do inductive Bible study. He’s a facilitator of discussion versus a lecturer, believing that we can all learn from each other in a group setting.

“Back to the Beginning” is a study for women of all ages and stages of Bible knowledge and study experience. This daily study of Genesis is divided into bite-sized pieces to accommodate busy schedules, while teaching provides in-depth views into God’s Word. Discussion offers accountability, encouragement, and connection with other women who desire to grow in their faith.

BLOOM—Building a Legacy Out of Motherhood
BLOOM—Building a Legacy Out of Motherhood

Chapel Pointe offers this program for women with children kindergarten age and under. BLOOM meets throughout the school year on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00 am in our FLC. This is a great way to connect with other moms in our church family and the community. It’s a place to be encouraged, to grow in your potential as a wife and mother, to disciple your children, and to build a Christ-centered legacy.

Tuesday TEA
Tuesday TEA—Teaching, Encouragement, Accountability

Tuesday TEA (Teaching, Encouragement, Accountability) is a Bible study for women at all stages of Bible knowledge and study experience. The study is divided into bite-sized pieces to accommodate busy schedules, while teaching provides in-depth views into God’s Word.  Discussion groups offer accountability, encouragement, and connection with other women who desire to grow in their faith. Join us as we go back to the beginning and study the book of Genesis. TEA meets on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesdays of the month at 9:00 AM beginning September 17.

Learn God’s principles for dealing with trials, temptations, the tongue, and the pull of the world.  If you have never done an in-depth bible study, this is a great opportunity to dive in to the Word of God in a casual group setting that is informative and transformative!
